The MT Masterclass app is free to download, but it requires a subscription to access the educational content. The pricing structure includes a few different options,

Training is delivered in association with Alan Howard and Davines across multiple UK locations, including Leeds, Manchester, Stockport, and London. For those requiring a customised approach, bespoke training can be arranged at Melissa Timperley Salons in Manchester or, alternatively, at your own venue, with our team available to travel nationwide.

The in-person Masterclass is a full-day, hands-on course designed for hairdressers of all levels. Here is what you can expect :

Expert Demonstrations: The day begins with live demonstrations of precision cutting techniques on three models, led by founder Melissa Timperley and other educators from her award-winning team.

Focus on Foundations: The training is built on the MT "Precision Principles," which are designed to break down the foundations of haircutting rather than just teaching trends. This helps you understand the "why" behind the cuts.

Hands-On Practice: After the demonstrations, you will get the chance to practice the techniques yourself. You'll work on a mannequin head (which is provided) and receive individual coaching and guidance from the educators.

Practical Skills: The course covers essential in-salon skills like checking the cut, precise blow-drying, and handling common challenges such as working with different hair types, face shapes, and tricky areas like fringes.

All-Inclusive: The price of the day-long course (around £330) some classes may include lunch ( more details can be found on the hosting company's website), a mannequin head, a certificate of completion.

We recommend every stylist invests in both an offset and an on-set pair. Alternating between them reduces repetitive thumb strain and protects your joints. We prioritise good posture and body conditioning to help you build a long, healthy career.

Your scissors, section clips, hairdryer, straightening irons and combs for the practical learning in the afternoon. A notepad and pen and a fully charged camera phone will help with taking notes and videos / pictures of the morning demonstration.

Courses finish at approximately 5pm, so please allow enough time when booking your journey home.

Our cancellation policy is 14 days to change or cancel a booking. For more information, please see our Terms of Service.

We have a 14 day cancellation policy to either change the date of or cancel a course booking. Cancellations or bookings outside of this time frame will be non-refundable. In case of refund, the money may take up to 10 working days to arrive back in your account. For international bank accounts there may be a small transactional fee which will not be refundable.

We collect data in order to provide the service only, or to provide news updates via news letters should you subscribe. You may unsubscribe from these at any time. We do not share data with any third parties.

This procedure applies to delegates who have attended our in-person MT Precision Cutting MasterClass.

If for any reason a delegate is dissatisfied with any aspect of the logistical arrangements for the programme, or tuition, we ask that you raise your concerns with Melissa directly, either on the day of the class or via email (see below), to ensure we can personally understand the issue being raised and take the appropriate steps to address the concern appropriately. Melissa can be contacted prior to or after the class directly at [email protected]. You will receive a response as soon as possible whereby Melissa will arrange time for a one-to-one discussion with the delegate regarding the issue.

If the delegate has an appeal regarding the reaching of a particular standard, our approach is to restate the precision cutting principle and the level of competence required to determine whether it does or does not reach the required standard. Every effort is made to help the delegate acquire the appropriate level during the programme, however, as skills development can take longer for some delegates than others, we allow the delegate to submit evidence of work post-programme to be further assessed via photographs and/or videos where this is appropriate.
